Joost is co-founder and CTO of Deep Sky, the world’s first gigaton-scale carbon removal project developer. Previously, he was co-founder and CTO of Hopper, the most downloaded travel app in North America and 50+ countries globally. An experienced technical leader who has partnered with Fred Lalonde for over 15 years, Joost is building the team, tech and infrastructure needed to scale Deep Sky and establish Canada as the carbon removal capital of the world.

Joost previously worked at Expedia and Newtrade Technologies (acquired by Expedia in 2002). He attended McGill University and has graduate degrees from the University of Amsterdam and the Ecole de technologie supérieure (ETS) in Montreal.
