Dr. Ibraheem Khan is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Extract Energy Inc., a company he founded that focuses on efficient conversion of low-grade waste heat (LGWH) to electricity. Dr. Khan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Toronto and subsequently completed his Master’s and Doctoral degrees at the University of Waterloo. He has successfully commercialized his doctoral thesis and invention, the Multiple Memory Material (MMM). This innovation enables shape memory alloys (SMAs) to become smarter, lighter, more reliable, and capable in a range of commercial and industrial applications. The technology has been widely implemented, including in the manufacturing of medical devices that have benefited over 50,000 patients.

Drawing on his experience and knowledge, Dr. Khan leads Extract Energy in leveraging smart materials and the Extract Energy heat engine to efficiently convert low-grade waste heat into electricity for primary power generation and industrial processes. His team at Extract Energy is committed to contributing to sustainability efforts and reducing carbon footprints across industries.
