Growcer
Co-founder and CEO
Corey co-founded Growcer with Alida Burke in 2016 to develop a solution to address food insecurity by developing technologies that produce food hyper-locally. Growcer began by specializing in modularized commercial-scale hydroponic solutions. After launching the first several farms with their first customers in Canada’s Arctic, growing veggies at up to -50C, their solution has since spread to every corner of Canada. Today, Growcer’s systems enable commercial food production in virtually all climate, and their current network of growers produces over 10 million servings of vegetables every year – with that figures has been nearly doubling year-over-year. Their 85+ customers include grocery stores, Indigenous communities, commercial real estate developers, farmers and entrepreneurs. Each standard Growcer module can produce 800+ vegetables every week, all year round. Growcer’s work has been recognized by organizations including Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas, the Entrepreneurs’ Organization, and was featured on Season 13 of CBC’s hit show, Dragons’ Den. Growcer’s mission is to make hyper-local food more sustainable and more accessible; and ultimately, to make communities worldwide more self-sufficient and self-reliant in their food supply.
